Amplifying culture is how good organisations become great. It’s through having leaders who challenge each other, and creating an environment where organisational values are lived, not only amongst the staff, but are measured and reported on, and are considered a key metric of businesses performance.
Yesterday I hosted over 30 Sydney business leaders at the offices of Gilbert+Tobin in Barangaroo.
What a great morning for those who braved the misty and wet morning in the Harbour City.
In my Amplify Culture Keynote we spoke about how to move your organisation from ‘living’ your values – to measuring the metrics around individual and team culture, and how to drive positive organisational outcomes.
It was such a lively Q&A at the end – great to see so many leaders looking at understand more about the systems that drive culture within high-performance organisations.
There was some really great discussion around hybrid work across industries and how the manufacturing sector is struggling with an employee expectation of flexible work – when site-based manufacturing is essential.
And some further insightful discussion around the essential role of leadership to take ‘values off the lunchroom wall’ and into an organisation’s everyday life, into their decision making and into their everyday language. Culture is amplified through ensuring that every step of an employee life-cycle, including elevation within a business or departure, is met with the similar level of effort and rigour around organisational values.
