There is such a thing as work-life integration and how we manage and avoid burnout is by having boundaries around how and where we choose to spend our time, so that we replenish our energy and enable ourselves to focus when we need to, with our families, in our workplaces, with our friends.
For me, there are three things we need to consider if we’re going to be setting boundaries and protecting ourselves from burnout:
If we don’t learn how to effectively manage our boundaries, we’re going to burn out. And that’s up to us as individuals, not our employers. We need to learn the skills to be resilient, to be focused, and to remain energised.
